Captain Captain

The sun swims out over the sea
or it tumbles in the plains
that's quite enough for you and me
and it's sure to keep us sane
but some things don't flow easily
you feel it time and time again

         you've got to stand up
         when the captain speaks
         you've got to keep still
         when the captain sleeps
         so you'll snigger
         when the captain weeps
         That's life ! That's right ! That's life !

The moon turns cartwheels in the sky
or it juggles with the clouds
in that it's quite like you and me
keeps us going in and out
the gates of private paradise
but sometimes we are not so proud
