The Indian English

Swashbuckling in Bengal
carrying off the Koh-i-Noor
hobnobbing with the rulers
and gently pitying the poor
the ladies off in June
up to Simla or Darjeeling
watching the Himalaya moon
wafts of that good old Highland feeling

        The Indian English
        know they can take it
        (and they took it all)
        the Indian English
        know they can make it
(they made off with it all)

They died like flies in Cawnpore
'cause tho' all the signs were there
they never knew what was in store
'cause losing for them wasn't fair
but later marching into Delhi
revenge was good and killing fun
they didn't even have to shell it
see how the blood reflects the sun
