Stasis

I walk to the pub
and shout 'bottoms up'
the waiter's a friend
right up to the end
I read all the papers
I'm comedy capers
everyone knows me
tho' some do disown me

     mock oasis
     without water

I joke with the girls
as I've travelled the world
they know I'm well-read
but they won't share my bed
I banter with children
sometimes they're bewildered
by the man with the books
so they shoot him strange looks
