Back then the medium was the message
and we frantically payed our passage
to break on through to the other side

        now everybody feels
        that there's wheels within wheels within wheels
        slowly grinding to a halt

so we hitched halfway 'cross the world
or minds fermenting in a whirl
to end up somewhere on a beach
where in the sunshine in december
we set out trying to forget
what we were too young to remember
